Banff Harbour Heritage Project Proposal

Introduction
On behalf of the Banffshire Maritime and Heritage Association (BM&HA) committee,
this website details proposals which have been discussed by the BM&HA committee
since August 2009.
These six proposals will enhance the harbour area and preserve items of our maritime heritage, which will be lost if they are not saved now.
Angus McAlistair of Braeheads, Banff, has stated that the section that remained of the beacon pole at Banff Harbour on the Lighthouse Quay has recently disappeared, and no one knows what happened to it.
There was a piece written in the Press and Journal Monday (27th July 2009).
This has prompted the formation of this report giving suggestions for improving the heritage around Banff Harbour.
Banff Harbour is category 'A' listed by Historic Scotland and the inner basin 'Guthrie's Haven' dates from 1625.
This draft report will be sent to contacts within the groups that are listed under Content: Other Local Groups, to ascertain individual group opinions and level of support for the proposals.
